Holy Week in El Escorial

Holy Week in Spain is a very popular Catholic celebration. A lot of towns have acts to commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and a lot of photographers take pictures about that. This post is not about that celebration.

I would like to show us some pictures of a walk by the mountains of El Escorial that I took in these days of the Holy Week. By other hand, Christian symbols appears very often in the Spanish landscape (churches, monuments, etc.), so some of my pictures have some religious symbolism. I hope you like them.

The Royal Site of San Lorenzo de El Escorial is an historical residence of the king of Spain, an actually awesome building ordered by Philip II of Spain in 16th century.
