Yesterday I was watching the exposition "Genesis", the last work of the Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado.

It was my first big exposition of an international photographer. I usually watch a lot of pictures worldwide in Internet, and I've seen before some little expositions, but it was the first time that I went to a showroom with a exposition as this.

Sebastião Salgado has travelled worldwide taking pictures of landscapes, animals or people with no connections with the modern civilization. Images of things that they haven't changed in centuries.

He uses in this work strong black and white compositions with a very sophisticated illumination. I like specially his landscapes. They make me remember the work of Ansel Adams.

The illumination and the composition are the strong points of this great photographer in my opinion. A very interesting work to be watched and think about the world in its origins and how we are changing it.

You can view more pictures and information about Sebastião Salgado in Artsy.
