"Las Hoces del Río Duratón" is a Spanish Natural Park in the middle part of the river Duratón. It is located near Sepúlveda or Villaseca (towns in Segovia, Spain). It is a very rich natural environment and It is a strategical location for the photographer.
What could a photographer find there?
Principally there are two photographic subjects in this park: natural landscapes and wildlife.
- Natural landscapes: The river Duratón's canyon is awesome: a river with a lot of curves, vegetation, cliffs, etc. There are a isolated hermitage and caves that we can include in our composition.
- Wildlife: The principal animal in this area is the griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus). There are a lot of them flying in freedom very close to the tourists.
Where is it?
It is in Segovia (Spain). I prefer the area of the hermitage of San Frutos. From there you have great views and It's where you can find more vultures. You can view more details in the below interactive map.
